Pig Tracking

At McDonald OilField, every successful pigging operation starts with precision. Our AGM/Valve DGPS survey data undergoes a rigorous QA/QC process, ensuring the most accurate and reliable foundation for pig tracking. This meticulous preparation means our field teams arrive equipped with everything they need to perform flawlessly—navigable mapping files pinpointing AGM and valve locations, high-resolution site photographs, and clear, concise deployment instructions.

Our trackers utilize state-of-the-art ELF/Mag tracking receivers and geophones, paired with AGM boxes supplied by the tool vendor, to deliver real-time confirmation of pig passage. The result? Complete confidence in every stage of the run, reduced operational risk, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing your pig is exactly where it should be—every time.

With McDonald OilField, you’re not just tracking a pig—you’re investing in accuracy, safety, and the industry’s most dependable tracking team

Tool Cleaning & Decontamination

McDonald OilField specializes in keeping your inspection and maintenance tools clean, safe, and ready for the next run.

Following any tool run—whether it’s cleaning (FMJ), caliper, deformation, or inline inspection—our experienced technicians use industry-proven equipment to test for NORM (Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material) that may be present from cleaning tools.

We can also set up a self-contained, portable cleaning bay right on-site, where every tool is thoroughly sprayed down and cleared of pipeline residue/debris before leaving the location. All residue waste can be safely collected in barrels for McDonald OilField to remove, or left for the pipeline operator to handle—giving you flexibility to meet your operational preferences.

Our process is designed to make tool turnaround fast, safe, and worry-free—protecting your people, your equipment, and your schedule.

Anomaly Dig Staking

Once the inline inspection (ILI) runs are complete and the final anomaly report is in hand, McDonald OilField can deploy a skilled anomaly survey crew to accurately preplan, locate and clearly mark proposed excavation sites. A Dig-Staking Report will be provided to clearly document the site staking and selection process.

During excavation, our team documents each site with detailed photos, precise location measurements, and—when needed—additional DGPS coordinates to ensure complete and reliable records.

At McDonald OilField, we’re committed to delivering exceptional results and adapting our services to meet your exact project needs, ensuring every dig is executed efficiently and accurately.

Lifting & Loading Services

McDonald Oilfield provides expert lifting and loading support for any ILI tool runs, using telehandlers, excavators, or other specialized equipment to handle tools safely and efficiently.

Our crews can move, stage, and precisely position tools in front of the pipeline pigging barrel, and, when required, assist in pulling them inside.

From start to finish, we ensure every lift is performed with precision, safety, and speed to keep your operations running smoothly.
